Antique wall decorative plate in the style of Bernard Palissy, a 16th century artist and scientist who spent 20 years of his life searching for the perfect glaze. This plate was made in the 20-30s of the last century in the studio of José Alvaro in Caldas da Rainha in Portugal. The 3D image is made in a realistic manner: in the center of the plate is a large crab surrounded by shellfish and algae. It is located on sandy ground, decorated with a majolica border. The bright color scheme with red, cobalt blue, green, yellow, brown and white is very effective.No chips, cracks, wear or restorations.
