Paired bowls of fu-yunomi, traditional bowls for spouses, or wedding bowls. They can be a gift for newlyweds for a wedding or anniversary. Ceramics, hand-painted. The bowls are included with the tomobako. Japan, the twentieth century. 

The unusual name of the paired bowls comes from the words 夫婦 (Japanese "fu-fu" — spouses) and 湯の ( (Japanese "yunomi" — a glass, a cup for green tea). Fu-yunomi is a traditional New Year's gift. They are drunk on holidays, and the rest of the time they decorate the interior.
