A pair of antique interior decorations, crafted in the form of two mammoth tusks, covered in three-dimensional carving and decorated using the scrimshaw technique. The entire surface of the tusks is adorned with images of high-ranking officials and auspicious symbols, transforming the decor into a single, dynamic pattern. The paired tusks are securely mounted on massive bases. Despite the dense relief carving, the sculptures retain the natural texture of the bone, simulating the roughness and grooves characteristic of mammoth tusks. Hong Kong, 1950s.
