The sculpture "Muse" is made of bronze. The female figure is clad in a form-fitting robe, over which a long, draped cape or cloak falls freely. The composition is built on an expressive contrast between the plasticity of the close-fitting garment, which emphasizes the anatomical structure of the body, and the heavier, flowing folds of the overlying drapery. The sculpture bears the signature of the artist, sculptor Antsiferov. Russia, 2004.

Nikolai Antsiferov received his professional education in the sculpture department of the Ilya Repin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture—now the Ilya Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. His mentor was the outstanding Soviet sculptor Mikhail Anikushin, People's Artist of the USSR and Hero of Socialist Labor. In 1971, Antsiferov completed his studies, receiving the qualification of artist-sculptor. An important stage in Antsiferov's creative biography was his work on recreating lost elements of historical works, which he has been engaged in since 2001. Nikolai Antsiferov's works are represented in museum collections, including the State Museum of Urban Sculpture in St. Petersburg.
