A vintage silk embroidery painting depicting a noble Japanese woman wearing a patterned kimono with a contrasting collar. She holds an open wagasa umbrella, made of bamboo and paper. Her hair is decorated with traditional Japanese kanzashi ornaments: thin hairpins and a decorative bead. Japan, 20th century. The painting is framed with a mat.
