Fu-yunomi paired bowls
Fu-yunomi paired bowls, traditional bowls for spouses, or wedding bowls. Can be a gift for newlyweds for a wedding or anniversary. Porcelain, hand-painted, gilded. Japan, 20th century.
The unusual name of the paired bowls comes from the words 夫婦 (Japanese "fu-fu" - spouses) and 湯のみ (Japanese "yunomi" - a glass, a cup for green tea). Fu-yunomi is a traditional gift for the New Year. They are used for drinking on holidays, and at other times they decorate the interior.
The price is for a pair.
