Antique sculpture "Ebisu"
Antique sculpture Ebisu, figures of the god Ebisu and red perch (red sea bass or tai) are made of patinated bronze. Japan, 20th century.
God Ebisu patronizes trade and fishing, is one of the representatives of Shintoism and the seven gods of happiness (shichifukujin). The sculpture is marked, located on a wooden base made of mahogany. Red is the color of luck, health, well-being, a symbol of offering and favor to the god.
