Zinaida Evgenievna Serebryakova, née Lanceray (1884-1967) - Russian artist, one of the first to gain recognition as a major artist in the history of female painting. She graduated from the female gymnasium and art school founded by Princess M.K.Tenisheva. Member of the World of Art association.


A distinctive feature in creativity was a love for simple plots and the beauty of the world. Since 1924 she lived and worked in France, in Paris. She is widely known to the public for a series of paintings on the theme of peasant life and Moroccan landscapes and portraits.
