Antique okimono "Okina"
Antique bronze sculpture of a Noh theater actor. There are removable elements such as a fan and Okin mask. Comes with a wooden stand and tomobako (storage case). Japan, 20th century.
Okina (Translated as "old man") is a legendary Noh play performed on special occasions, where one of the characters is a happy, smiling old man. A mask with the image of an old man is considered especially revered, since this character personifies the deity of the ancestral ancestor, bringing kindness and joy. The forehead and cheeks of the mask are usually decorated with deeply cut wrinkles.
