Cups originally - the image of the earth and the house. The strict form shows the status of the item on the table. Cups were made of glass, bone, crystal, used for beer, wine, of course, and water. It was customary for a tired traveler to bring bread and give water to drink from a goblet. In the days of knightly tournaments, victorious knights were presented with a goblet of wine; from the 19th century, goblets were given as a prize element.
