Vintage vase by Koransha and Fukagawa workshops. Japan, 20th century. Porcelain, enamel painting, glaze. Includes a tomobako (original storage box).It bears an orchid mark, attributed to the Fukagawa and Koransha companies. Fukagawa is currently a porcelain manufactory in the Arita region. Its history dates back to the 17th century, beginning with Ezaiemon Fukagawa, who, in 1856, together with his brother, Takeji, took over the family porcelain business. In 1875, the Koransha company (which translates as "Fragrant Orchid Company") was founded in Arita. One of the variations of the mark became a stylized orchid symbol.
