Antique vase "Noh Theatre", Japan
Antique vase on a ceramic stand with scenes from the Japanese Noh theater depicted on it. The vase is decorated with signs for good luck, wealth and health, an actor's mask and a samurai helmet with deer antlers. Shinroku is the offspring of a sacred white deer; killing him was considered a great sin. In the city of Nara, deer have the right to roam wherever they please. Painted with polychrome, gold paint. Japan, 20th century“No” - translated from Japanese means “talent, skill.” It is believed that the Noh theater was formed on the basis of the performances of the cult of the Sun Goddess; these performances took place under the pine tree, the sacred tree of Shintoism. The design of the stage of the Noh theater contains the image of a pine tree, the tree of eternity and permanence.Among the features is that the actors sing the text rather than read it. The floor is polished to a shine; the actors have to move in a peculiar way, almost sliding across the surface. The main plots of Noh theater are the fate of man, morality, the problem of choice, historical battles. The female roles are played by men, the main actors have masks, each with their own name.
