intage paired sculptures "Fo Dogs". Made of bronze with gilding using the cloisonné technique. They represent figures of two fantastic animals - Fo dogs. The male presses the Earth to the ground with his paw and personifies Yang energy, power and success in business. The female personifies Yin energy, protection of home and family, and she presses the cub to the ground with her paw. Images of Fo dogs, according to beliefs, had the ability to drive away evil spirits and all kinds of troubles. Fo dogs were quite common in Far Eastern art, which is due to the popularity of this character. In a pair, Fo are located on the sides of the entrance to keep evil out of the house. Asia, 20th century. The cloisonné enamel technique originated in China in the 14th century. Products made using this technique gained unprecedented popularity in the 17th century and were used mainly to decorate imperial palaces and temples. Today, art objects made using the cloisonné enamel technique decorate modern interiors, giving them a bright oriental flavor.
